Outside Pattaya

Outside Pattaya needs a face lift so this month I am going to slightly change the format. In the past I have given a general overview of what is going on east of Sukhumvit, this month I am going to concentrate on just one of my favourite haunts here “in the jungle”. The Mabprachan Resort is located just off the link road to route 36 and Bangkok. The resort opened a couple of years ago suffering a certain amount of derision from the locals due to its Out Of Pattaya location.Well, those who scoffed are now eating humble pie as the place has taken off in a big way. Sat on over 5 rai of landscaped and manicured gardens the resort offers luxurious accommodation suites both single studio type and one and two bedroom superior family suites surrounding the gardens and the enormous swimming pool and stage. The resort facilities include an air-conditioned non-smoking restaurant and long bar with a choice of exotic Thai dishes and a full Continental menu as well. Outside but well protected from the sun and rain is the bistro which carries the same menu as the inside restaurant where you can puff away if you wish. In the garden and adjacent to the pool is a sala bar that is very popular with the lads both young and old. The resort also has a full gymnasium, free WiFi internet, a cinema, spa facilities, lounging areas and an ambience all of its own. Pay them a visit, you will not be disappointed, just to see Jimmy’s tropical fish … thousands of them will make it worthwhile!
