Gulliver’s Pattaya

Gulliver’s Pattaya

Gulliver’s is another one of the pubs that have been around for as long as anyone would care to mention but somewhere that always proves to be very popular. Gulliver’s is located on Pattaya Beach Road between the Holiday Inn and soi 1, set slightly back from the road in quite an elegant fronted building. In the front area there are a number of tables and chairs set up for those wishing to dine al fresco and look across Pattaya Bay towards Koh Larn or perhaps just to do a little bit of people spotting and wile away your time!

As you walk inside you may be surprised at how big the place is. You will be greeted by the large bar area and staff opening the doors. There are a number of bar stools around the bar as well as a number of tables to either side of the bar. As you pass through the bar there are three pool tables and beyond that another dining area. To the right there is a large room that again has plenty of space for diners but is often only open at busy periods.

One of the things that you will notice about Gulliver’s is the number of TV’s that are on the walls. The place is certainly something of a sports pub but maybe not to the same extent as the Lion Pub. The majority of sports are shown with great focus being place on the English Premier League with all games being shown at weekends. As you would imagine it is a very popular time and gets extremely busy especially when there are any big matches on.

Anyway, on to the food. The food in Gulliver’s is always good quality and one of the biggest compliments you can pay is to say that it is always consistent and that goes for both Western and Thai dishes. The portions are of a good size and everything is always cooked as you ask for it – for example if you ask for your steak to be medium it will be medium! Another good thing about the restaurant is the fact that the staff have been there a number of years and tend to understand what Westerner’s want and expect and as a result you receive excellent service and the food generally comes at the right times.

Overall Gulliver’s is a great place to go and enjoy a few beers with friends and watch the sport. It is also a superb place to go with family and enjoy a nice meal so on the whole the place ticks most boxes and would be a winner for most people!
